Many lovely things have arrived and I am much less sad- I love you guys However the cat has been very poorly today and I can't take her to the vets til Monday because it's double the price and I simply cannot afford it The vet said as it's a physical thing (her mouth is swollen and sore and she's drooling) and not a bug or anything, and because she wants to eat even though she can't, and can breath then she should be fine til Monday. I hope she just ate a wasp or something and she hasn't fractured her jaw

Are you seeing a theme with these journals?

No, no one's pissed me off this time but I wanted to really talk about why I do what I do. Why I spend so much time on DA, why I fav half the resources gallery, why I suggest DDs, why I give critique, why I show you yummy things in news letters...

Because I LOVE DA. More specifically, I love textures and see beauties I would never use myself, but KNOW that other people could. So I share them - not everyone scours the Texture gallery daily. I do, and it's time consuming. You go in thinking 'hmm I could use a nice base texture for hippo skin' and come out eight hours later, bouncing off the walls on a texture high, screaming YES! I WANT THEM ALL! I WISH TO INGEST THEM ALL! completely missing all the good TV. Thank God for Sky Plus.

So I use my addiction so you may watch Lost without interuption. Or in my case, Chuck. (I have four weeks worth to watch stored in the sky box)

I have no more power than anyone else in the process of Daily Deviations

It's no secret that I am friends with , we've been incredibly close for the past year and I love her to death. Do you really think that gives me any more leverage with my DD suggestions?

I'm sick to fucking death of it. I rarely send Fiona suggestions any more, in fact the deviation in question was suggested in chat as I fawned over it in my message centre, but I might as well stop sending ANY DDs in seeing as I'm friends with and too! Hell, why stop at resources? I've chatted with, and am on friendly terms with half the GDs on DA, so let's just stop me suggesting anything eh?

I suggest DDs for one reason, and one reason only - BECAUSE I FECKING CAN. Underappreciated artist? I want them to be more appreciated! Deviation that makes my heart falter and tears gather? I want everyone to experience that. An extraordinary display of talent and skill? I want that artist to know how much we value their hard work.

Or in the case of stock and resources, I suggest deviations that inspire me, and that will inspire others. I suggest deviations that are good quality, with a useable subject and composition. I suggest full body model stock that is unusual, emotive and easily removed from the background. I suggest portrait stock that is striking, of a good angle, that is versatile. I suggest background stock that creates a mood, leads the eye and sets a scene. I suggest object stock that is pin sharp, sparks the imagination, and that adds a finishing touch.

You can't tell a GD to feature something, they will simply consider your suggestion and either agree or disagree. Fiona has laughed at my suggestions many a time, as has ^lyastri and LDD just facepalms when I forget to check the downloadable size and it's actually 500px square and pixellated to hell

Yeah, people might think 'hmm, yeah I'm not convinced' and believe me, I do that a lot. Just step back from the keyboard and click on 'send a note' before venting. Tell the GD, not the deviant who just happened to be DDd. It's not just common courtesy, it's a rule, set out in black and white.

I'm not particularly unusual in my DD suggestion regularity, I know various deviants such as , , and are all huge suggestors, and I'm sure there are many more. You want something to be loved? Suggest it! And be prepared to defend your reasons for doing so when the rattling masses rain on your parade.
